Extreme runner plans Crazy Legs 10K on Devil’s Backbone Trail

Paul Stofko started running at noon Friday, April 11.

For 37 hours and 15 minutes, he continued around and around a 10-mile loop through mud and ankle-deep water.

“It rained,” said the 32-year-old Loveland man. “It snowed, and the wind picked up to 20 to 30 miles per hour. It got down to 30 degrees overnight.”

He ran without sleep, through aches and pains, and 150 miles later, he crossed the finish line early morning Sunday, April 13.

“You get to the point where your completion is the big thing,” said Stofko.
